About Us
Building a School Where Learning Liberates
Shashvat began in 2016 as a mainstream school with a simple goal: to educate. But we soon realized students were memorizing without understanding. Inspired by progressive models, founders Amrita and Atul Gaigole reimagined Shashvat as a concept-driven school, integrating the Cambridge International curriculum with experiential learning. Today, we’re known as a ‘Man-Making School’ (Manus Ghadvinari Shala), celebrated for shaping both minds and character. Our journey—from a small start to a thriving 2-acre forest campus—reflects our commitment to meaningful education.
Founders’ Vision
Amrita and Atul Gaigole founded Shashvat with a question: *What if learning could excite every day?* Amrita, a child psychology expert, envisioned a nurturing space for exploration. Atul, a systems thinker, crafted a curriculum blending real-world experience with academic rigor. Their vision: an education that liberates—freeing students from rote learning to shape their futures. They personally meet every family, ensuring Shashvat’s values resonate with each member of our community.
Educational Philosophy: The Four Pillars
“Rooted in ‘Sa Vidya Ya Vimukteya’—education that liberates—our philosophy rests on four pillars:”
- Knowledge: Beyond facts, fostering deep understanding through projects like water conservation designs.
- Dedication: Cultivating curiosity and discipline with relentless ‘Why?’ questions.
- Sacrifice: Embracing challenges—like late-night experiments—for growth.
- Empathy: Caring for animals and practicing non-violent communication.
Our Learning Designers
Our faculty are Learning Designers, not just teachers. Chosen for their passion and innovation, they train with Shashvat and Cambridge International. They create lessons that spark wonder: math unfolds in the forest, calculating yields; language arts explores animal-inspired tales. Their mission is to make every day a discovery, igniting a lifelong love for learning.
